ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

West Park

West Park Elementary School prides itself on being known as “a caring community.”  Built in 1955, the school is located at 510 Home Street nestled between beautiful Ghormley Park and the University of Idaho campus.

Our unique primary school serves 275 kindergarten through third grade students.  Our kindergarten classes are located in the spacious College of Education building on the U of I campus.   Our student body is rich in cultural, economic and religious diversity with students representing countries from around the world.

Our 43 professional, caring, innovative, staff members are joined by numerous university and community volunteers in an effort to help each unique child become a successful, lifelong learner.

We are proud of our low class sizes, technology, curriculum and the impressive achievement earned by our students. Please visit our website to find out more about us.

WEST PARK PHILOSOPHY

West Park staff shares responsibility for the welfare and development of each child with parents and/or guardians.  By teaming, we can best meet student needs.

Our goal is to offer an education that best suits each student’s ability and helps each assume active responsibility for his/her learning.  The aim is to prepare students for responsible citizenship.

Our major instructional goal is for every student to become literate.  To foster success, we offer the skills, competencies, and knowledge necessary for each student to appreciate his/her heritage, to solve problems and to meet present and emerging needs.
